Skin Rocks The Light Moisturiser Review

So far, I’ve really enjoyed almost all the Skin Rocks products – I didn’t much like the cleansing balm but love the Gel Cleanser, despite not being a gel cleanser fan. Skin Rocks is proving to be a reliably good quality and well crafted brand that has just secured further investment. Right in time for the warmer months is The Light Moisturiser. I appreciate that it just says what it is and no fancy names. I used to think that naming products would be the dream job but now I really can’t think of anything worse. The pressure to be witty or current – how many times has a product developer sat staring at a pink lipstick and called it Rosewood just because it’s the last of 20 new names and they’ve lost the will to live.

The Light Moisturiser is a gel like cream – super light and initially lovely and cooling on the skin. You can work it around easily and it settles into the complexion quickly and easily. As you’d expect, there’s more to it than meets the eye – lipids, pro-Vitamin D3, ceramides and antioxidant fruit extracts. Squalane and Vitamin E feature in the ‘Lipid Advanced Complex’ – I’m pleased to see that skin stalwart, Vitamin E. It’s still an efficacious and useful ingredient for skin to hydrate but it’s been usurped of late by sexier vitamins. Don’t worry, Vitamin E, you are not forgotten 😊.

This is going to suit you if you have oily or break out prone skin or you just cannot bear the weight of a heftier cream on your hot summer skin. I really don’t like the feel of heavy creams, particularly body creams, when the weather is hot – I think I can feel my skin sweating underneath. You will still get all the nourishment you need (unless you are particularly dry) from this formula, just without the heft. At £58 HERE, it’s quite an investment but hot, oily skin needs extra care and you will have it here – with or without fragrance as there’s an option for either.
