Bobbi Brown Gilded Gleam Eye Shadow Duo Set Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m not going to bother with a Friday Treat this week – it’s Black Friday so the whole of the internet is full of treats! I can’t compete. I’ve got mixed feelings about Black Friday – it’s really, really tough on small brands and retailers who feel they have to compete but will struggle to slash prices as heavily as the bigger retailers. But, I despite the Estee Lauder Companies being in something of a woeful state (I’ll have a field day next BBN), I have no qualms telling you about this gorgeous little eye set which I’m so impressed with from Bobbi Brown.

Inside the box you get a Metallic Eye Shadow Duo (two options available), Smoky Eye Mascara in Black and a Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Truffle.

Let me tell you, these shades bring instant life to your lids – and I didn’t find them particularly droppy either. The problem with shimmery products is that you can end up with little twinkles all over your face when the intention was to keep them on your lids. I needed to cleanse twice to get rid of them all when I was taking my make up off – the first cleanse seemed to just distribute the shimmer everywhere.

When it came to applying, I usually prefer a one colour lid and leave it at that but these are both so beguiling I found a way to wear both. I applied the lighter metallic all over my lids and then took the darker shade into the crease and found a fluffier brush to make sure it was well blended. I also did a light line under my lower lashes and then used the brown gel liner over my top lid and inner rims.

I’m wearing a Bobbi lipgloss – a long time favourite gloss formula and I’ve had so, so many – that comes from the Swipe-And-Shine Crushed Oil Infused Trio below.

This is a great little edit – very wearable shades, and the gold shimmer is perfect for bringing life to existing colour lipsticks.

I will wear all of these but particularly the middle shade, In The Buff, which is very much my kind of lip colour.

From bottom to top: City Lights, In The Buff and Force of Nature (there is another colour option). They’re more glazes than full pigment colour. So to the prices – Bobbi Brown is already in deal mode with 25% off almost everything. The Swipe-And-Go set is £26.25 HERE, and the Gilded Gleam set is £40.50 HERE. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy either for beauty loving friends and family. Sequin top is H&M HERE.
